Hylenex (hyaluronidase) is an enzyme that dissolves hyaluronic acid filler by breaking it down into its natural components — water and hyaluronic acid, both naturally metabolized by your body.
We offer Hylenex for patients unhappy with existing filler, wanting to start fresh before new treatment, or who have a vascular complication requiring immediate dissolution.
Results are typically visible within hours. Swelling from the hyaluronidase itself may occur for 24–48 hours before the final result is apparent.
Pre-Treatment Care

Can Hylenex dissolve filler placed by another provider?
Yes. Hylenex dissolves all HA filler regardless of who placed it or what brand was used. A consultation helps us determine the appropriate amount.
Will dissolving damage my skin?
No. Hyaluronidase breaks down filler into water and HA — both naturally metabolized. Your skin will not be damaged.
How long before I can refill?
We typically recommend waiting 2–4 weeks before refilling. This allows all residual filler and swelling to resolve, giving us a clean baseline.
Can Hylenex dissolve Sculptra or Radiesse?
No. Hylenex only dissolves hyaluronic acid filler. Sculptra and Radiesse cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase.
